Few names in the Savannah homebuilding business match the reputation of Jerry C. Wardlaw. In 1985, he began learning the trade under a local builder, and, within nine years, he knew he wanted to have his own residential building company. With Jerry’s experience and passion for homebuilding, JCW Quality Homes soon built a trustworthy name that hundreds of new home buyers turn to every year.
Combining his keen understanding of the Savannah housing market and his belief in the time-honored American tradition of home ownership, Jerry set out to fill a niche – one that provides high-quality, affordable housing with features not commonly found in entry level homes. JCW’s original plan portfolio, which offered award-winning floor plans and elevations, would become a formula for success.
From successful homebuilder evolved the next logical step – that of “developer.” Jerry Wardlaw and his team began developing neighborhoods to complement their homes. Based on his original niche concept, Jerry’s new neighborhood development company became the first to make affordable the benefits once found only in upscale neighborhoods. From attractive streetscapes, family-oriented amenities, and premier locations, Landmark 24 Development is now one of the largest residential developers in the Coastal Southeast.
During this continual expansion and period of rapid growth, Jerry turned to his brother, Jack Wardlaw, a highly respected Savannah CPA. In 1999, Jack joined the company as President of Development and dovetailed his financial and accounting background with Jerry’s industry expertise. The new team quickly established themselves as one of the leaders in Savannah’s and the Coastal Southeast region’s homebuilding and planned neighborhood-development market. This market has expanded into Bluffton, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach, to name a few communities.
Jerry says, “It’s our time-honored tradition to own a home and to live in a neighborhood where our families can grow, our equity will build, and our memories can be created.” He and his brother, Jack, are both active in the local community and support the local and national Home Builders Association. JCW Quality Homes have earned recognition from the HBA of Savannah through numerous awards. Jerry currently serves as a state director for the Home Builders Association of Georgia.
